CannedWater4Kids has teamed up with Novelis and Ball Corporation to raise awareness of World Water Day.

Novelis, a leading producer of rolled aluminium and a leader in beverage can recycling, and Ball Corporation, a producer of beverage cans are helping to raise awareness about the lack of safe water access for many people around the world.

CannedWater4Kids is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing safe water access to those who need it through sustainable water sourcing initiatives. Novelis and Ball are encouraging individuals around the world to show their support for CannedWater4Kids on World Water Day, which is taking place tomorrow (22 March).

As part of Novelis’ commitment, the company has agreed to donate $1 for every person who takes action through social media to promote the importance of clean, safe water access on World Water Day, up to a total of $20,000.

Actions include:

1.“Like” the CannedWater4Kids Facebook page.

2. Follow @CannedWater4Kid or @Novelis on Twitter. Re-tweet @Novelis or @CannedWater4Kid with hashtag #WorldWaterDay.

3. Visit CannedWater4Kids.com and hit the “Donate” button to earn a $1 donation from Novelis.

Novelis will donate $1 for every person who supports the cause in one of these three ways, up to $20,000.

“Nearly one billion people in developing countries do not have access to safe drinking water. CannedWater4Kids is committed to reducing this number,” says Greg Stromberg (pictured above), CannedWater4Kids founder and CEO. “Due to the gracious support from Novelis, by doing something as simple as clicking ‘Like’ or retweeting on World Water Day, you have the power to help bring clean water to children around the world.”

John Gardner, vice president and chief sustainability officer for Novelis, added: “We commend the work that CannedWater4Kids is doing to bring safe water to communities around the world, and we encourage everyone to help us contribute to this cause.”
