Kingsland Drinks has further strengthened its partnership with Vinca, the 100% organic wine company, announcing the production of Vinca’s wines in Kingsland’s 100% recycled 75cl aluminium wine bottles alongside its existing canned wine formats.
The new capability will see Kingsland Drinks producing Vinca red, white and rosé wines in 75cl aluminium bottles, complementing the brand’s established range of organic Sicilian red, white, rosé and sparkling wines already produced in cans at Kingsland Drinks’ Irlam facility in Manchester, UK.
The move reflects a strategic investment by Kingsland Drinks to broaden its alternative format offering and meet growing demand for more sustainable, lightweight and recyclable packaging solutions across the wine category.
Aluminium bottles offer a compelling alternative to glass. Made from 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium they are also infinitely recyclable and one of the most recycled materials in the UK. This high recyclability and widespread collection also help to reduce EPR fees and drive stronger compliance performance.
At around 70g versus an average 450g glass bottle, the lighter format helps cut transport emissions and improve logistics, delivering up to four times lower CO₂ emissions than a comparable glass bottle, while retaining the familiar 75cl bottle size valued by consumers and retailers alike.
Aluminium bottles are also increasingly popular at festivals and events because they are lightweight, shatterproof and safer to handle, and their high thermal conductivity helps drinks chill faster.
This latest development builds on Kingsland Drinks’ successful expansion into canned wine production and demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to investing in future-focused capabilities that support brand growth and innovation.
Paul Braydon, director of business development and marketing at Kingsland Drinks, said: “Alternative formats are no longer niche – they’re becoming an essential part of how the wine category evolves. Our investment in aluminium bottle capability is about giving brands like Vinca the freedom to innovate while maintaining quality, scalability and sustainability at the core.
“We already produce Vinca’s full canned range and extending that partnership into 75cl aluminium bottles is a natural next step. It reinforces our role as a long-term, full-service partner that invests in infrastructure and technical advancement ahead of demand to support our customers’ ambitions.”
Jack Green, cofounder of Vinca, added: “Aluminium bottles are already an important part of our range, delivering the sustainability benefits we care about while retaining the familiarity of a 75cl bottle for consumers. Bringing production to Kingsland Drinks gives us greater confidence around quality, scale and long-term partnership, while allowing us to localise production closer to market.”
The aluminium bottle launch further strengthens Kingsland Drinks’ position as a leader in wine production, reflecting continued investment in technology, infrastructure and expertise to support evolving consumer and retail needs.
Vinca aluminium bottles are stocked in Tesco, M&S and in online retailers with distribution set to expand in 2026.
