Matcha has quickly become part of the everyday beverage ritual for a growing number of consumers, drawn to its distinctive flavour and naturally occurring caffeine. At La Colombe, that interest is especially clear in its cafés, where matcha sales have grown 188% since 2023.
Now, La Colombe is bringing the matcha experience from its cafés to the fridge with the launch of canned La Colombe Matcha Lattes, a new line of ready-to-drink beverages. The lineup includes a smooth and balanced Everyday Matcha Latte, alongside Strawberry and Vanilla for a subtly sweet take on the classic.
For La Colombe, creating an RTD matcha latte wasn’t about chasing a trend. It was about bringing the same craftsmanship that has defined the brand for more than 30 years to one of the fastest-growing beverages in the category, so consumers don’t have to choose between convenience and quality.
“When La Colombe first put the Draft Latte in a can, the brand helped reshape the RTD coffee category by making a true coffeehouse quality experience accessible to more people. Now, we’re bringing that same craft and innovation to matcha,” said Niel Sandfort, chief innovation officer at Chobani and La Colombe. “We challenged ourselves to create a product with the highest quality ingredients that raises the bar for what consumers should expect from RTD matcha. The result is a thoughtfully crafted matcha latte made with exceptional ingredients and the same care and precision we bring to every beverage.”
To deliver a true café-quality experience, the new RTD beverages are crafted with farm-fresh, lactose-free whole milk from Michigan paired with single-origin matcha sourced from Japan, creating a smooth creamy latte that lets matcha’s naturally bright, umami-rich flavor shine.
Crafted for everyone from the daily matcha drinker to the matcha curious, each 11oz can contains 65mg of natural caffeine and is a good source of protein.
La Colombe’s Matcha Lattes will be available online and at major US retailers nationwide this month.
