Metpack 2011 gets underway

Frank Thorwirth, chairman and CEO of Messe Essen, described Metpack 2011 as a “jewel in its crown” as the world’s largest metal packaging trade fair got underway today (Tuesday 10 May).

He was joined by the vice chairman of the Metpack committee, Wolfgang Niemsch (pictured right), at a press conference where the pair looked ahead to what promises to be an exciting week here in Essen, Germany.

Niemsch talked about how Metpack has grown in size over the years but revealed that there were no immediate plans to change it from a triennial event.
