Strawster debuts from Ball

Ball has unveiled its integrated drinking straw, Strawster. The straw “magically appears once the can is opened and creates a fun and convenient drinking experience for consumers,” the company says.

This comes after Ball’s recent collaboration with Döhler, which created a new drink that marries Strawster with the beverage for children – Fruit Splash for Kids.

Christoph Witte, head of product management B2C at Döhler, says, “Within the highly fragmented beverage market, it is more and more important to address consumers individually with a clear benefit and a multi sensory experience. Besides the taste of the mouth-feel, the emotional connection to the brand is a big factor – something that packaging can respond to.

“Cans in general are highly attractive for kids and the Strawster combines the beloved straw with a harmonic and exciting natural refresher. It is the perfect synergy for kids and an innovation to the market.”
