Bringing aerosol recycling to the masses

Lots happening this week, and we were pleased to hear that Stolle’s new Asia Pacific location is now in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, coincidentally where Asia CanTech 2024 is taking place!
The Asia Pacific region, along with Australia, will also now benefit from aerosol recycling systems from Dutch-based DeSpray Environmental. The company has signed a long-term multi-million contract with the Australian based ARRG Waste.
DeSpray’s containerised recycling systems can be installed and commissioned within ten days on site, and are designed to target mid to large-scale waste management companies that see aerosol recycling as a niche market. This is the first time in DeSpray’s history that its machines will be shipped to Australia and the Asia Pacific.
From its headquarters in Chinchilla, Queensland, ARRG Waste operates a range of waste management and recycling services. According to the company, its cooperation with DeSpray fits into their business model seamlessly.
According to the two companies, the arrival of the DeSpray machines should put a dent into the 250 million aerosol cans that are consumed in Australia every year and are not recycled properly. It is expected that other countries in the Asia Pacific will follow the example of ARRG Waste in Australia.
Elsewhere, while we’re busy wrapping up the CanTech June edition, I’ll tease that there is an exciting announcement about CanTech the Grand Tour 2025 in the latest magazine, so don’t miss it! We’ve also got our Cannex preview, featuring some of the exhibiting companies and what you can expect to find and discuss at their stands between 16 and 19 July.
