With CanTech the Grand Tour 2025 fast approaching, I’m pleased to be able to share the presentation themes of our keynotes from Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) and Steel for Packaging Europe (SfPE, formerly APEAL).
MPE’s CEO, Krassimira Kazashka, will discuss the EU Green Deal and competitiveness of metal packaging. The Green Deal encompasses the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the Waste Framework Directive, Critical Raw Materials Act and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
Jason Galley, director and chief executive of MPMA, will dive into packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) and the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), providing a UK perspective while highlighting how it’s essential for European audiences to pay close attention to the potential impact of UK packaging reforms in their current format.
SfPE’s new president, Richard Lézé, will discuss opportunities for a steel-driven future, exploring how steel packaging is evolving in strength, safety, and in line with sustainable legislation and how this offers can makers new opportunities to enhance performance, sustainability and market appeal.
In addition to the above, Belvac joins us this year as our supplier keynote. The company’s vice president of global business, Eric Hodge, will outline the evolving landscape of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and its significant implications for the metal packaging sector.
Take a look at the other confirmed speakers and exhibitors here, with the full agenda to be announced very shortly.
You’ll be able to hear from our speakers and exhibitors in the March 2025 edition of the magazine, which is being worked on at this very moment! It will be coming with us to Brussels, so attendees can pick up a free copy if they haven’t already subscribed.
Registration for the show is still open so there’s still time to join us if you haven’t booked already! Click here to secure your space.
