Bama appoints vice chairman

Richard Earnshaw has been appointed vice chairman of the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA). He takes up the post from May 2016 and is currently on the board of Bama.

The appointment follows the recent announcement that Sebastian Alvarez of Unilever UK was appointed chairman of the association last month.

Earnshaw has worked in the aerosol industry for the last 11 years and is currently director of supply chain at Swallowfield, one of Bama’s member companies.

Commenting on the appointment, he said: “Bama is a very successful trade association with a long track record of delivering benefits to its membership and I feel that it is a great privilege to accept the role of vice chairman. There are many important, strategic activities both underway and planned for at BAMA. My new appointment will be challenging, interesting and one which I very much look forward to undertaking, working with Sebastian, the other members of the executive committee, the Bama secretariat and of course our members.”

Speaking of his recent appointment, Alvarez added: “I am honoured to be appointed to lead the association and work with the secretariat. One of my key objectives is to ensure we stay informed, as an industry, of new legislation and help shape it where possible. I also want to make sure that the next generation is aware of the fantastic career opportunities within the aerosol sector.”
