Crown has achieved an A- ranking for the climate change strategy outlined in its first annual CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) submission.

This program cycle’s evaluation included a total of 2,449 companies globally, with the average program ranking being a C. Crown’s submission reflects data collected from the company’s operations across 40 countries for the period of 1 January 2015 through 31 December 2015.

Crown’s ranking places the company in the leadership tier, the highest level that can be attained. This achievement is based on the company’s performance in the following categories: governance and strategy, risk and opportunity management and emissions management.

“Our World Class Performance (WCP) programme, which focuses on raising performance standards and improving efficiencies in every aspect of our global operations, has served as the backbone of our sustainability efforts for over two decades,” said Timothy Donahue, president and chief executive officer of Crown.

“The high ranking we received for our inaugural CDP submission is a direct reflection of our commitment to the WCP program and the results it has generated. Crown remains committed to raising the standard of excellence by which we operate and we look forward to sharing our continued progress.”

Crown has committed to a 10% reduction of CO2 emissions and a 5% reduction in energy from its production by 2020, calculated for its standardised production using 2015 data as a baseline.
