Gruppo ASA renames its UK and Swiss factories

Gruppo ASA has renamed its factories in the UK and Switzerland to strengthen the company’s identity on the market.

Central Tin Containers in Speke, Liverpool became ASA UK & Ireland Ltd while Sauter in Ermatingen, Switzerland was renamed ASA Switzerland AG.

Michele Amati, a member of the executive board of Gruppo ASA said: “This change aims to consolidate the Group’s identity on the market of metal packaging.”

The UK company was acquired in 2015 and Gruppo invested €1bn to install a new production line of aerosol cans. This investment was part of the optimisation process that Gruppo ASA has been carrying out on its production through the introduction of new machinery and the rationalisation of existing equipment in order to increase productivity and guarantee higher flexibility and faster response to present and future customers’ demand.

The Swiss company, founded in 1873 on the banks of Lake Costanza, was acquired in 2009. The new ASA Switzerland AG, which boasts over 140 years of expertise and solid know-how in the production of metal packaging, is the Group’s crown jewel in the infant formula sector.
