Domino Printing Sciences appoints Alberto Sanson as new chief information officer

Domino Printing Sciences has announced the appointment of Alberto Sanson as the company’s chief information officer.

Sanson’s appointment comes following the retirement of Dick Wallin, who led Domino’s IT team for the past 20 years.

Recognising Wallin’s contribution, Alberto commented: “My goal is to build upon what Dick has already achieved in transforming Domino’s global IT organisation into a trusted business partner, delivering an IT strategy that aligns with and moves the larger business strategy forward.

“The role of the IT leader continues to evolve; it is no longer just about maintaining systems, but instead driving innovation in processes, behaviour and how we apply technology,” continues Alberto.  “Our objective is to improve both the experience we provide our customers and our operational efficiency, to deliver genuine, long-term competitive advantage. At Domino, our digital transformation programme supports the longer-term aspirations outlined in our vision and mission, but also the critically important information backbone to respond to day-to-day business needs.”

As CIO, Sansons’s responsibilities will include leading Domino’s Information Technology (IT) function as a key member of the Domino Executive Leadership team. An experienced IT leader and with in-depth experience of managing and developing global teams, Sanson has a strong track record in driving strategies to deliver business results.

Sanson joins from Illinois Tool Works, where he held the position of group IT director for the company’s $1.7bn Construction Segment. Prior to this, his career has included positions of increasing IT leadership responsibility, in fast-paced, changing, global industrial/technology companies where he demonstrated strong technical and managerial breadth. He has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, a Master’s Degree in Intelligent & Multimedia Systems and an MBA.

Robert Pulford, CEO at Domino, said: “I am delighted to welcome Alberto to our Executive Leadership team and wish him every success in his new role. His in-depth experience of leading sophisticated IT functions in dynamic industrial and technology businesses will be invaluable to us in the rapidly-changing times in which we operate, allowing us to build upon our already strong foundations and support our objectives for an agile, sustainable and innovative global business.”
