Mueller joins Crown’s board

Crown Holdings has announced that Josef Mueller has been elected to the company’s board of directors. The board now has 12 members.

Mueller has spent his entire 35-year career with Nestlé for which he most recently served as chairman and CEO of the company’s Greater China Region until his retirement in 2007. Previously, Mueller was head of Nestlé Korea from 1995 to 1998 and Nestlé Pakistan from 1992 to 1995. Earlier in his career he held management positions in Switzerland and the Far East.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Josef to our board,” says John Conway, chairman and chief executive officer. “Josef’s overall business acumen combined with his extensive knowledge and perspective of Asia will bring us valuable insight and counsel for one of the most promising emerging markets in the world today.”

Mueller serves as an Executive-in-Residence at I.M.D., International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, and is president of the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Geneva, Switzerland. He also serves as president of the Swiss Brand Association, Promarca.
