MetalMatters, the industry-supported campaign that encourages householders to recycle their cans, foil, empty aerosols, trays and metal screw tops, has been rolled out by Buckinghamshire County Council in the UK.
The educational campaign, which has already been rolled out across 110 county councils, will see leaflets distributed to more than 200,000 houses, with further material set to arrive six weeks later. Campaign posters will be displayed at Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) and across social media, while a series of online resources will also be made available to local primary schools.
Run by Alupro, MetalMatters aims to educate householders about best practice metal packaging recycling and motivate residents to recycle more at home.
Rick Hindley, executive director at Alupro, said: “Over the past few years, the MetalMatters campaign has delivered significant results and increased the amount of metal packaging collected across the UK. We hope to continue raising awareness and get more local councils involved in the programme.”
