Isle of Wight Distillery debuts Mermaid G&T in Crown cans
The Isle of Wight Distillery in the UK has released its Mermaid gin brand in cans made by Crown.
The can is printed and plastic-free, plus 100% recyclable. Orders are sent to trade customers in plastic-free packaging.
It is the first ready-to-drink (RTD) product for the company. Mermaid’s signature gin contains rock samphire, an edible wild plant which is harvested above high tide from the base of the Isle of Wight’s cliffs. The canned drink is a blend of the gin paired with Indian light tonic.
Xavier Baker, co-founder of the Isle of Wight Distillery, said: “After a brilliant response to the launch of the Mermaid brand and with people staying closer to home, enjoying staycations and local events, we decided now was the time to broaden Mermaid’s reach.”
