VMI, specialist in production machinery, has been awarded a Gold EcoVadis Medal for its progress toward sustainability. The EcoVadis rating is a comprehensive assessment of a company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. By achieving the Gold Medal, VMI is in the top 5% of most sustainable companies worldwide, as recognised by EcoVadis.
In just three years, VMI has gone from bronze to silver and now to gold. In a statement, the company said: “We see this important award as a milestone on our path to a more sustainable future. This recognition confirms and underlines our ongoing commitment to sustainability, transparency, quality and social responsibility for our company, our people, our technology and our role throughout the entire chain. We do not see this as an end point, but as a powerful motivation to go even further.”
EcoVadis is the global standard for business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. More than 150,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis.
