According to Google Trends, searches for “canned wine” have skyrocketed by 100% since the start of June, as Brits embrace this convenient and affordable way to enjoy their favourite tipple in the sun.

Celebrating this, UK supermarket brand, Aldi, has released its ready-to-drink (RTD) Pinot Grigio Fizz (£1.89, 20cl) and Pinot Grigio Blush Fizz (£1.89, 20cl).

According to Aldi wine expert and Mistress of Wine, Sam Caporn, canned wines are a game-changer for summer sipping: “There used to be a perception that canned wine wasn’t up to scratch – but that’s simply not the case. There’s been a real shift in quality in recent years, and people can now feel confident that what they’re drinking from a can tastes just as good as wine from a bottle. Aldi’s Pinot Grigio Fizz and Pinot Grigio Blush Fizz are great examples – they’re well-made, stylish and genuinely delicious.”
