The Canned Wine Group has announced that its co-founder, Ben Franks, will be taking over from Simon Rollings as CEO from 1 March. The announcement aligns with a renewed, commercial focus with an expanding portfolio and growth in group’s draught wine offering, it says.
In a statement on social media, the company stated: “We’re staying true to what we set out to do in 2019: create a better wine-by-the-glass experience and foster more meaningful connections with the wine we drink. Whether moderating, grabbing a can for convenience, or looking for a fresher serve, it’s about making each moment memorable. We began that journey by launching a Grüner Veltliner and Old Vine Garnacha, and today those wines are joined by over 15 innovative products within the Canned Wine Group portfolio.”
Simon Rollings will step into an executive chair role, tasked with cementing the group’s long term vision. He will take over the wine buying role from Franks, strengthening the group’s supplier relationships and continuing to build on its new product development.
