At Metpack 2026, Sencon is marking 50 years of innovation in the metal packaging industry. But this isn’t just a celebration of the past — it’s a look at what comes next.
Since 1976, Sencon has introduced technologies that have reshaped can making — advancing process control, strengthening quality assurance, and setting new industry standards. At this year’s Metpack, visitors will be able to explore that legacy through a retrospective of ‘world-firsts’ that have helped improve the quality and efficiency of modern can and end plants.
Behind the scenes, Sencon has also been working hard to develop another set of innovative solutions for can makers. Some of these will be unveiled at Metpack 2026.
A dedicated area on the stand will offer a glimpse into what’s currently in development — new approaches to solving the real-world challenges faced on today’s modern metal packaging lines. The details remain under wraps for now, but for those working in the industry, it will be well worth a closer look.
Alongside this preview, Sencon will introduce a new generation of solutions, including:
- New versions of Sencon’s widely used semi-auto enamel rater and digital coatings thickness gauges;
- Self-checking enamel rating can stands;
- A new Benchmark series gauge for measuring a previously unmeasured (‘lost’) dimension within the standard can specification;
- An extended size range version of the groundbreaking ES8000 end and shell gauge;
- Enhancements to Sencon’s world-leading canline sensor and leak testing technologies.
Built on well-proven platforms, these developments deliver improved performance, smarter functionality, and a more intuitive user experience, continuing a long-standing approach to innovation shaped by close collaboration with customers.
On Wednesday 6May, Sencon will host a 50th anniversary celebration on its stand. Beginning in the late afternoon and continuing after the exhibition closes, the event will bring together customers, colleagues, and industry partners for an opportunity to connect, unwind, and mark five decades of shared progress.
