Huber Packaging Group to move out of Russia

German based Huber Packaging is pulling out of a its Russian tin-plate manufacturing facility.
The company had built a facility in the greater Moscow region to produce tin-plate packaging for the industrial chemicals sector.
Huber opened the site after saying there was “strong demand” for western-standard tin-plate packaging, particularly in the market segment for paints and lacquers.
However, according to reports on the German language website www.euwid-verpackung.de after a “critical review” the company will pull back from the site on the outskirts of Moscow.
The future of the site remains unclear with Huber already indicating the possibility of a sale of the Russia business to an investor, a buyout by the local management or the decommissioning and selling off of the machines.
