BAMA Awards 2014 results

The results of the 2014 BAMA Awards were announced at the annual British Aerosol Manufacturer’s Association gala dinner in the West Midlands, UK, on 16 October.

The 2014 winners of the BAMA Awards, as selected by a panel of independent industry experts, were:

Aerosol of the Year – Reabrook Ltd. for its Bouffe hair care range.

Sustainability Category – Cascade Technologies Ltd for its Pressurised Metered Dose Inhalers – Online Leak Detection System.

Innovation Category – Aptar Beauty & Home for its Runway actuator.

In addition to these winners, the panel selected runners up for each of the three categories. The runners up were as follows:

Aerosol of the Year runner-up – Unilever UK for Lynx/Axe

Sustainability runner-up – Swallowfield plc for its Body Butter Mist

Innovation category runner-up – Colep UK Ltd for its Body Oil Foam development

In addition, the judges also highly commended Colep UK’s Metal Packaging Division for its development of a new invisible seam innovation for tinplate aerosol cans called ‘DigiStripe.’

BAMA has also awarded its Special Recognition Award 2014 to Peter Serby. The accolade recognises his outstanding personal contribution to the aerosol industry.

Dr John Morris, chief executive of BAMA, says, “Peter has been a stalwart of the UK aerosol industry for 40 years. He has been actively involved with BAMA with tireless energy and enthusiasm since 1975 either participating in or chairing technical committees and meetings. His expertise is renowned and BAMA is delighted to recognise Peter’s contribution with a Special Recognition Award”.
