Ball supplies cans to Dry Dock Brewing

Take_it_in_the_can_FB_web1-451x225Dry Dock Brewing has become the latest US craft brewer to start packaging its beer in cans supplied by Ball Corporation.

For the first time in Dry Dock’s eight-year history, four of its beers are available in aluminium cans. They are Apricot Blonde, Hefeweizen, Amber Ale and Hop Abomination IPA.

Dry Dock Brewing was founded in October 2005 and is based in Aurora, Colorado. It has won medals at both the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival, including Small Brewing Company of the Year in 2009.

“Dry Dock’s decision to offer its craft beer in cans further confirms the can is a sustainable consumer-friendly packaging material for craft beers,” says Rob Miles, senior vice president, sales for Ball’s metal beverage packaging division, Americas. “By moving to aluminium cans, craft brewers are realising efficiencies in energy and operating costs while delivering a differentiated product that is a perfect match to the growing craft brew marketplace.”

Dry Dock owner Kevin DeLange added: “By putting Dry Dock’s beers in cans, our customers are able to take our award winning beer with them where bottles often can’t go, while protecting the beers’ delicate flavours.”
