Antares Vision Group, through its inspection technology of Applied Vision Corporation, has announced the launch of Genius PolyView CTI (Can Top Inspection), an advanced machine vision system engineered to deliver unparalleled precision and reliability in monobloc aerosol can inspection.
The Genius PolyView CTI sets a new standard in quality control for aerosol packaging, enabling comprehensive inspection of critical can top features – including the neck, under bead, shoulder and, for the first time, the thread area on bottle cans. Designed for easy integration and robust performance, the system combines speed, versatility and innovation to meet the evolving needs of aerosol can manufacturers worldwide.

At the heart of Genius PolyView CTI is DoubleTake Technology, an approach that enables one camera to capture two images using different lighting geometries and durations. This dual-imaging method dramatically enhances the system’s ability to detect subtle defects while reducing false rejects.
A mirror-assisted optical design further improves image quality, providing better visualization of the can top’s most critical surfaces. Together, these technologies ensure comprehensive and highly accurate inspection results, even at maximum production speeds.
Genius PolyView CTI operates at line speeds up to 250 cans per minute and accommodates can openings between 20-25 mm, with a maximum height of 300 mm and diameter of 80 mm. Its compact and lightweight design – just 8.5lbs and under 4 inch diameter – allows it to integrate easily with all standard neckers, including Hinterkopf, Mall Herlan and other systems.
Installation is simple and efficient, requiring less than five minutes, and the system runs on Applied Vision’s proven Genius software platform for easy operation and centralized data management.
In rigorous testing, the Genius PolyView CTI exceeded 2.5 million inspection cycles at twice the typical machine rate, confirming its mechanical durability and long-term performance stability. The unit is CE compliant.
