Perm Machine & Tool Co has announced the acquisition of Epic Products International to accelerate growth, innovation, and strengthen its position as the premier single-source supplier in the metal decorating industry.

Perm Machine & Tool Co is a global supplier based in St John, Indiana, a manufacturer of equipment and replacement parts for the metal decorating and can making industries that specialises in HOE Printing Presses, Wagner Coaters and Wicket Ovens. Established in 1970, Perm provides technical solutions to domestic and international clients, specifically focusing on food and general line can making manufacturing.

Epic Products International has been enhancing the quality, productivity and efficiency of the printing process since 1977. It began with the rich history of the Dahlgren family dating back to 1958 with development of the alcohol-based fountain solution. This was the basis to the creation of the Dahlgren dampening system in 1960, which eliminated hickeys and perfected the quality of offset printing eventually leading to the development of the upgraded Epic Delta Dampening System in 1977.

With the leadership of Max Dahlgren and Mary Barnes, they have guided Epic Products International to its present-day success and industry innovation.

By combining Perm Machine & Tool’s expertise in HOE printing presses, Wagner coaters and wicket ovens with Epic Products’ legacy in press dampening systems, this acquisition integrates advanced technologies and expands distribution capabilities while ensuring continued high-level customer service and superior support.

Lee Milazzo, president and CEO of Perm Machine, commented on the asset acquisition executed in late December 2025. “This acquisition marks an important milestone for our company. By combining our resources and talent with Epic, we are better positioned to deliver innovative solutions, accelerate growth, and provide greater value to our customers.”

This acquisition is the third for Perm Machine. The first was when Milazzo purchased Press Parts, and the HOE brand in 2006. Following the 2023 acquisition of C&S Machinery, the 2025 addition of Epic cements PERM’s ongoing expansion and market dominance.

While Perm is still in the process of winding down the operations at Epic’s Cedar Hills, Texas location with completing order backlog, transferring technology, and finalising the integration of systems, the company has said it anticipates that the move to Perm’s headquarters in St John, Indiana, will be completed by 30 June 2026.
