A hazy head

A few weeks ago I broached the subject of New Year’s resolutions and predictably, weight loss and controlling alcohol intake were at the top of the agenda. However waking up this morning with a throat which can only be described as being like ‘Gandhi’s flip flop’ and my head pounding severely, it would’ve been a wise idea to add “avoid getting pissed at trade shows” to my long list of resolutions.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who only sets out with good intentions at trade shows. Just a sociable couple of drinks over dinner predictably turns into tiptoeing back to your hotel room at an hour that would make Keith Richards blush. Well the temptations of the Parisian moonlight hours were certainly too much to bear and so here we are now, contemplating a tough day patrolling the trade show hall. A couple of strong coffees will do the trick I’m sure, but lesson learned for the rest of the year, must try harder.

In light of the show in which I’m attending in Paris, aerosols are top of the agenda this month. The March issue brings you a review of the Aerosol Forum (minus the bit about Keith Richards), I bring you an exclusive interview with BAMA’s chief executive, Patrick Heskins and Evert van de Weg examines the three-piece versus two-piece debate with particular emphasis on the aerosol side of the market.

I hope you have enjoyed the latest issue and alongside some technical content, you managed to ‘Guess the year’ on page 10 and enjoyed the debut from our new contributor ‘Can Man’. I’ve been promised a piece on monopolies within the industry so I’m sure he’ll be pulling no punches! I for one am looking forward to reading it.

Au Revoir for now.
