Scott Breen is the vice president of sustainability at the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI). CMI represents US can manufacturers and suppliers and Breen’s responsibilities include promoting the can as a sustainable/circular package, making sure federal and state legislation and regulation do not disadvantage the can, and leading the industry’s efforts to build upon the can industry’s leading recycling rates.

Breen’s roles prior to CMI was associate manager of the Sustainability and Circular Economy Program at the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation and attorney-advisor at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Along with his position at CMI, Breen also explores various aspects of sustainability as the creator and co-host of the podcast Sustainability Defined.

Commenting on CMI and Breen’s involvement, event director, Neil McRitchie, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Scott and the CMI to present at Asia CanTech, The Virtual Show 2020.
