Grazing made simpler

Having just arrived back from the Mediterranean myself, it pleased me this week to see Theo Michaels once more collaborating with Canned Food UK on a new campaign which is inspired by Greek and Cypriot flavours.
‘Can and Graze’ features stylish recipes designed to elevate mealtimes, all while promoting that ‘delicious, creative cooking really can come straight from the can.’ The recipes include an aubergine dip; Gigantes Plaki (Greek-style baked beans made simple); griddled apricots with feta and thyme, Cretan Dakos, hot honey halloumi and octopus bruschetta with gremolata.
Each of the recipes has been shared on Michaels’ and CFUK’s Instagram pages, @theocooks and @cannedfooduk, and is also available in full on the Canned Food UK website.
Commenting on the campaign, Theo Michaels said: “My grazing board captures the essence of how canned food can be used to create delicious and inventive light bites. Not only is canned food a smart choice for quick and tasty cooking, it’s also a sustainable one, with metal packaging being 100% recyclable and canned ingredients helping reduce food waste through longer shelf life.”
I’m a huge fan of grazing myself, so will be eager to try some of these recipes, particularly the apricots and octopus. My husband’s not a keen fish lover so I have to
With the dry spring and hot summer the UK has had, crops and livestock could be low in supply for our upcoming autumn and winter seasons – all the more reason to appreciate the imported canned goods that are available to us here.
Can and Graze inspires us to dig into those cans that may have been sat in the cupboard for too long, waiting for a creative day, while also reminding us of our role in contributing to a circular economy through making informed consumer choices about packaging and recyclable materials.
