Are cans really that hard to open?

Which? a British magazine famed for campaigning for consumer rights has ‘named and shamed’ cans as the hardest to open packaging.

Are cans really that bad? With EOEs it’s pretty easy for even the most infirm to open a three-piece can and two-pieces have had SOT for almost as long as I can remember.

On the odd occasion I do have to use a can opener for a can, but it’s not the hardest thing in the world.

And my parent used to have an electric one for opening our dog’s food when I was a child, so there are options out there.

I think the can industry could do with some positive press on the easy of opening cans, so I’ll work on that – if anyone has any info please let me know!

I’m also deeply ashamed that an estimated 1 million British people need medical treatment from can-related injuries every year.

Surely at worst all you’d need is a plaster if you caught your finger on a sharp edge?
