Hoffmann to take over tobacco tin business from CMP

Swiss can making company Hoffmann has agreed to take over the tobacco tin business of Dutch-based CM Packaging BV.

The company has signed a long term manufacturing agreement with CMP and will establish a second production site within Europe to enlarge production capacity for cigar and cigarette tins.

CMP will focus on and expand its core businesses in general line metal packaging and injection moulded plastic packaging and reinforce its development of new projects.

The company will end its activities within the market for metal packaging for cigars and cigarettes by the end of January 2012.

Hoffmann is a subsidiary of the Hoffmann Neopac group, based in Thun, Switzerland. Hoffmann’s core business is the manufacturing of pocket packs and tins in metal and metal/plastic for the tobacco, confectionery, food and non-food industries.
