The Box liquorice tin nominated for NL Packaging Awards

The Box, producer of custom-made tin box packaging, has received a nomination in the NL Packaging Awards for its storage tin for Klepper & Klepper liquorice.

Businesses are nominated for the awards in various categories such as private label, point of sale and sustainability. The judges will make their assessments based on various criteria such as originality and creativity, consumer relevance, innovation, visual hierarchy and relevance.

Klepper & Klepper approached The Box needing a packaging to suit its “Best Liquorice Ever”. The Box was given a cardboard dummy to transform into a sturdy container, which would also further strengthen the liquorice producer’s branding.

The end result is a cool tin with a slim, tapered shape that allows the tin to stand upright easily. On the back of the unopened tin, Klepper & Klepper’s product information is on display, while the front reveals embossed lettering.

Opening the tin uncovers three bags of Klepper & Klepper liquorice. A wire allows the tin to remain open, thus revealing the tin’s dual functionality as both a storage box and a display item; retailers are able to present the bags of liquorice in upright position inside The Box’s open tin design.
