German can maker appoints new chairman

Huber Packaging Group has named Thomas Hagen as the new chairman of its management board.

Hagen, who was appointed by the advisory committee, succeeds Dr Rainer Opferkuch, who retired last month. Hagen took up the position on 1 June.

Born in 1962, Hagen has a business degree, is married and has two children. After studying Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth he embarked on his professional career in 1988, joining Daimler AG in Stuttgart to work in the field of sales related and financial controlling.

Hagen has also held positions at Asea Brown Boveri AG in Zurich; Lahmeyer AG in Bad Vilbel; Weidmüller AG & Co in Detmold and Demag Cranes AG in Düsseldorf.

Huber Packaging Group is a metal packaging manufacturer based in Germany. The company operates through two business divisions: industrial and beverage.
