Huber Packaging to purchase four Crown general lines

Huber Packaging Group will purchase Crown general line tinplate packaging locations in Switzerland (Aesch), Finland (Helsinki), Great Britain (Liverpool) and France (Rouen), as soon as the local and European consultation procedures (if applicable) and necessary formalities have been completed. The acquisition is scheduled to close by the end of the first quarter of 2015.

The acquisition will see the Huber Packaging Group press ahead with the further development of the company, expanding its market share in its core business sector and in establishing market access to fields in which the company has not yet been active. Huber is currently developing an integration plan for the assets to be purchased.

Thomas H. Hagen, chairman of the Management Board of Huber Packaging Group said: “With this acquisition, we are actively pushing ahead with the consolidation of the European tinplate packaging market and are significantly expanding our position in the chemical-technical tinplate packaging business within Europe.

Not just our customers will benefit from this, but also all the facilities, including the new locations as strong local units. The four new locations will fit in optimally with Huber and will greatly contribute to expanding the Huber network. The teams will therefore ultimately benefit from good development perspectives.”
