Rexam appoints non-executive director
Can maker Rexam has announced that Leo Oosterveer is to join its Board as an independent non-executive director on 1 September 2011.
He is currently leading the global foodservice division of Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast moving consumer goods. He started his career with Unilever, before setting up his own consultancy. Oosterveer returned to Unilever in 1996. From 2002 to 2006 he was chairman/CEO of Unilever in Thailand and Indochina whose operations are mainly focused on home and personal care products.
Commenting on the appointment, Sir Peter Ellwood, Rexam’s chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome Leo to Rexam. He is a strong operational leader with a proven track record in marketing, sales and strategy development gained both in Europe and Asia. His global management experience will be a great asset to the Board and to Rexam.”
