Being that early bird

I am your typical journalist when it comes to completing articles and deadlines at the last minute. One of my resolutions for the year ahead is to be a little more organised when it comes to planning articles and events throughout the year.

I know a few of you within the can business are the same when it comes to deadlines, so why not get organised and sort out your show plans for 2017? Early bird registration for Asia CanTech 2017 is now open!

The event will be taking place at the Royal Orchid Sheraton hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, on 30 October – 1 November 2017. As always, the event attracts can makers and fillers from across Asia, as well as global suppliers.

Commenting earlier this week, Megan Freeman, events manager, said: “I am very excited to be heading to Bangkok once again, Bangkok is a fantastic location for Asia CanTech and the Royal Orchid Sheraton always provides a great venue. Don’t miss the early bird discount, which expires on the 31 May, all of our packages qualify for considerable discounts.”

It’s been an interesting week for me as I’ve been able to get out and about. One of my trips involved visiting Time and Tide Brewery on the Kent Coast (UK). With unusual artisan flavours including beer made with coriander, squid ink and beetroot, this craft brewer is certainly once to keep a close eye on as the flourishing UK craft beer scene continues to develop. And crucially of course, they can their product for maximum efficiency and flavour control. You can read about this in the February issue, which is due to go to press in a couple of weeks’ time.

Until next time…
