A big deal

Greetings from a very cold Paris, where I have been at the Aerosol and Dispensing Forum (ADF) show.

Predictably the attempts to persevere with ‘dry’ January fell woefully short during this trip. The lure of French wine proved to be too much!

The last couple of days have certainly proved to me that ADF has to be taken very seriously when examining your show schedule for the year. There has been noticeable expansion under Easy Fairs, with improvement to its conference schedule and exhibition space for exhibitors. Although, the calls for a more efficient cloakroom experience and speaker times for the conferences appears to have fallen on deaf ears. I had to sit through one particular unpleasant presentation on the merits of plastic aerosol cans; not the most joyful 30 minutes of my life I can assure you!

At the show, the team at Easy Fairs announced that they will be adding a China show to its ever-expanding portfolio. The show, set to take place on 28-29 March 2018 in Shanghai, will see ADF in three continents. It’s just what this industry is needing, another show…

For a round up of what went on at the show this week, there will be a show review in our February issue which will go to press at the end of next week. I’ll be rounding up on the latest aerosol developments at Ball, which includes information on its high definition engraving to aerosol cans and the mega trend of personalisation within the industry. There will also be information on Crown’s innovations within the aerosol sector.

This afternoon sees the inaugural launch of The Metal Cans and Bottle Packaging Forum. With speakers from Sun Chemical, Tubex and Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, it promises to be an informative couple of hours. I’ll be blogging about this later this week to provide you with a summary of what went on.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
