Ball Corporation, a global leader in sustainable aluminium packaging, has partnered with Unilever to support the launch of a football-themed Rexona Maximum Protection aerosol range in Germany. The project uses Ball’s Dynamark PRO print technology to deliver six distinct can designs, combining creative flexibility with consistent print quality and a recognisable Rexona brand identity across the range.

The can designs were created as part of the partnership between Unilever and the German Football Association (DFB). They feature stylised portrait illustrations of the German men’s national team. The design deliberately focuses on a cohesive visual world rather than individual photorealistic player portraits.

Unilever said it wanted to create a more distinctive range with several design variants in a single production run while preserving the recognisable Rexona brand identity. Ball’s Dynamark PRO technology enabled this flexibility. During the initial trial period, the artwork was optimised to support consistent print quality across the range and create a strong on-shelf presence.

Ball’s proprietary Dynamark PRO technology supports variable design elements, colour mixing, half-tone illustrations and complex graphic details. This allows brands to execute multiple designs within a single series while ensuring a consistent brand identity.

“This project shows how close collaboration can turn a strong creative idea into packaging that is both visually distinctive and practical to produce at scale,” said Victoria Marletta, vice president of personal & home care, commercial, at Ball Corporation. “We are proud to support Unilever on a campaign that combines creative ambition with the production expertise needed to deliver a high-quality result across the Rexona range in Germany.”

Rather than tying the packaging to a single event, the Rexona range is designed as a longer-term, football-focused activation. The use of DFB imagery helps extend brand visibility beyond a one campaign moment, keeping the national team theme present on shelf over a longer period.

“This collaboration with Ball and the DFB allows us to connect with our consumers’ passion for football in a fresh, visually impactful way,” said Hannan Mölder, category lead, deodorant Rexona & AXE Germany. “Dynamark PRO gave us the creative flexibility to represent the collective strength of the national team while maintaining the premium quality and identity our customers expect from Rexona.”
