Return of Asia CanTech proves a huge success

Asia CanTech has just concluded its 2022 edition and from myself and Bell Publishing it’s a massive thank you to all our attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and of course the events team at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok for a wonderful show.
For many, the show was an opportunity to reunite with colleagues and friends after Asia CanTech’s three-year hiatus, the last event being in 2019. For myself and a fair few other fresh faces, it was a great first experience and certainly not the last.
The first day of registration (Monday 24 October 2022) saw many smiling faces and lots of warm welcomes while the tabletop exhibitors set up their stands ready for three days of showcasing their businesses. In the evening, we all got together for an alfresco buffet dinner and plenty of socialising while overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
On Tuesday 25 October, conference director Neil McRitchie opened the speaker presentations which began with our keynote, TCP Group’s CEO, Saravoot Yoovidhya, discussing the Group’s ‘Energising a Better World’ vision. We then continued with a varied programme featuring speakers from many sectors within the metal packaging world, discussing optimising production lines, reducing costs, saving energy, and much more.
Wednesday 26 October saw the conclusion of our insightful presentations, followed by the Candid Forum session discussing rising costs and sustainability in the industry, and then the end of the day saw the last few hours of tabletop networking.
On a personal note I’d say it’s always the sign of a successful event when people are lingering at the end of the day and want to chat more! We have already received some brilliant feedback from attendees – thanks to those of you who filled in the forms we provided – however if you have any additional comments or did not get round to the form in-person, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Thank you so much again to everyone involved in the event, and see you all for next year’s edition of Asia CanTech! In the meantime, you can expect my full rundown in CanTech International‘s December 2022 / January 2023 magazine issue.
