I’m back after what felt like a whirlwind week in China for Cannex. Many new connections were made, among catching up with familiar faces. Getting out into the ‘real world’ truly is a joy, and the metal packaging industry offers a community like no other – even on the other side of the world!

You may have seen on LinkedIn that I interviewed Robert Bunting and Joseph McEachern about Bunting’s recent acquisition of TD Wright, so you’ll be able to find that on our YouTube channel soon, as well as in the September edition of the magazine, in the Cannex review.

Additionally, more details about BNM’s new product innovations have been released in our latest news story, and more will follow in the magazine. Thank you to BNM’s director of global marketing, Erin Yeung, for inviting Sarah and I to the launch at the company’s Cannex stand and for providing all the extra exciting information.

We were getting a lot of questions last week about Asia CanTech and CanTech the Grand Tour. I can tell you that we are now sold out of platinum packages for Asia CanTech, with a few gold remaining for companies wishing to book their slot in the exhibition area.

We’re looking forward to sharing another varied conference programme with you all, as well as showcasing the latest can making excellence with the can awards – entry to these is free; just fill in the submission form send your cans to the address on this page. There are nine category choices, so plenty of room for multiple submissions to showcase flair in different formats.

The 2025 Grand Tour will follow a similar format, and we’re looking forward to welcoming many of you who are either based in Europe or do business/want to grow there – there is much to explore. Contact our events coordinator, Aimee Carnell, if you have any questions.
