Canpack Group joins UN Global Compact

The Canpack Group has joined the UN Global Compact, as part of its sustainable development strategy and corporate culture.

Committing to the activities of this global organisation which engages business in achieving sustainable development goals is tantamount to declaring to take active measures in this area and to fulfill the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), said the company.

“By thinking and acting in a sustainable manner, we recognise our responsibility as an employer, packaging manufacturer, member of local community, and business partner. Our three pillars of sustainable development – Care. Sustain. Recycle. – clearly define the direction of Canpack’s activities and reflect the expectations of all company’s stakeholders,” said Roberto Villaquiran, CEO of the Canpack Group.

“We are glad to be part of this initiative and to undertake joint activities which benefit the global economy as well as the local communities in which we operate.”

United Nations Global Compact is the largest global initiative calling on businesses to create strategies and actions based on 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. Since 2000, the initiative has been joined by more than 13,500 members from 170 countries.
