The 2022 edition of the Asia CanTech Awards were presented on Tuesday 25 October at the Gala Dinner in the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers.

The awards saw winners in the following categories:

Innovation

WINNER

Crown Food Thailand’ Golf Ball Can.

This three-piece can (with the lid at the bottom) is printed conventionally and then textured like a golf ball to give a more premium look on the supermarket shelf. The can is said to lower cost and impact on the environment. The example can showcased at Asia CanTech was for coconut milk.

Caps/Closures

WINNER

DS Group’s Curved Can.

This small can is produced in gloss finish with embossing on the body and lid. It was developed with a double slip lid with a special profile inside to address spillage of the product, even after the tamper-evident aluminium seal is opened. The can showcased at Asia CanTech was for the storage of pan masala.

Unfortunately DS Group was unable to attend the show, but we’ll make sure their certificate and trophy is sent to them and arrives safely.

Beverage Two-Piece

WINNER

Can Asia’s Lemon-Dou Devil Lemon.

The first Coca-Cola fizzy alcoholic Chu-hi Japanese drink in the Philippines comes in sleek cans with neat print and upscale aesthetics achieved through a detailed laydown technique and high-quality registration with matt finish.

Can Asia was also unfortunately not in attendance at the awards this year but their certificate and trophy will be on the way soon.

Food Three-Piece

WINNER

TinPak’s Peptogen Protein Powder Can.

This three-piece can was designed with professional concepts and printed with a gold metallic effect. The molecule images on the can helps to create brand perception, and the can is also fully beaded to make it stronger and more robust, particularly important during transportation.

TinPak again were unable to be at this year’s ceremony however their certificate and trophy will be posted too.

General Line

WINNER

Teksan Teneke Kutu’s Jack Daniel’s 90° Tin.

The sharp corners of this tin used to store the world-famous whiskey, combined with the hidden lid and bottom, create a luxurious look for this General Line winner. The use of both embossing and not-so-common debasing enable this unique tin to be pleasing to both the eye and touch.

Finally, from all of the above award winners, our specialist jury at Asia CanTech chose a Supreme Winner to receive the Asia CanTech Cup, which was Crown Food Thailand. The team were eager to get everyone up on stage for a group photo with the cup and their winning can, as you can see in the featured image above.

Congratulations to Crown, and all our worthy award winners this year!
