Ball Packaging Europe will demonstrate developments in the drinks can market at this year’s Brau Beviale in Nuremberg, Germany.

Ball will show how new and growing market segments can be opened up thanks to innovative beverage cans. The can’s attractiveness is enhanced by the fact that it can be consumed at any occasion and by its positive recycling features. Ball will present its diverse product range at the exhibition from 13-15 November.

With its extensive range of different can sizes and specifications, Ball is able to offer attractive cans for a huge range of beverages, including growing market segments like health and wellness or energy drinks. According to the Canadean research institute, the European consumption of ready-to-drink tea (RTDT) is estimated to grow about two per cent in 2012. Within this steadily growing segment, eight per cent of all RTDT sold are already offered in beverage cans. Ball’s 33cl Sleek aluminium can is especially suited for health and wellness drinks like RTDT.

While ready-to-drink teas in cans are gaining popularity, the rapidly growing market segment of energy drinks is inseparably linked to the beverage can. Canned products account for over 60 per cent of all sales and for 2012 Canadean expects a raise in sales of over 13 per cent in Europe. Energy drinks are mainly sold to young, trend-conscious and active consumers, which fits perfectly with the modern image of the beverage can. This image is also transferred to other beverages which are not traditionally sold in cans.

Ball’s stand can be found in hall 4, (4-109).
