To mark Polish brand Okocim’s 180th anniversary, Canpack has created a special, limited-edition commemorative can collection. The new designs for the brewery, including refreshed cans for the flavoured non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic beer lines, proudly feature the anniversary logo and have been rolled out across the brewery’s portfolio.

Okocim has maintained a presence in Brzesko, Poland, for almost two centuries. In that time, it has become a fundamental part of the town’s culture and history.

The sense of history and tradition is maintained through the craft that’s passed down by generations of brewers, techniques that have remained largely unchanged over the years, and of course through the flavours the brewery produces.

In 1996, the brewery was acquired by Carlsberg Group, and in 2001, it became part of Carlsberg Polska. But the guiding principles of using only the best barley malt, hops, yeast and water are the same as when Jan Goetz founded the brewery back in 1845.

Throughout its lifetime, Okocim has explored new technologies and pushed boundaries to continue turning out some of Poland’s best-loved beers year after year, from being the first to produce keg beer in Poland to launching the first canned beer and first non-alcoholic beer, Karmi.

Canpack has a longstanding association with Okocim, having opened its first factory right here in Brzesko 30 years ago: Canpack’s first ever cans were produced for Okocim. Since then, the companies have built a relationship with a strong foundation of mutual trust and a shared belief in the importance of design and technology working in harmony.

“Over the past 30 years, we have delivered millions of cans to Okocim, and we’re looking forward to the next years of creating a unique history together,” said Lesław Mika, Canpack Group sales director.

“180 years ago, the Okocim Brewery was born in Brzesko, and 150 years later, the first Canpack factory in Poland was established in the same city. Today, more than half of our beer reaches consumers in aluminium cans. We are constantly developing joint initiatives to reduce the consumption of primary raw materials and the carbon footprint of production and transportation. We are proud that as the Okocim Brewery, we can be an important part of the 30-year history of Canpack,” commented Marcin Będlin, Okocim brewery director.

Canpack’s graphic team worked closely with Okocim’s brand team, refining every detail to bring the new designs to life.

“No matter the challenge, whether it’s a limited-edition can, a new design or a complete rebrand, we bring the customer’s creativity to life, and that is really a great feeling. For three decades, we’ve approached every can design execution with passion, precision and commitment,” said Dariusz Pająk, Canpack graphics studio director.

“Our partnership with Canpack combines expertise and trust. Their technical guidance ensured the anniversary cans perfectly capture our brand’s refined and distinctive character,” said Klaudia Cieślak, Okocim senior marketing specialist.
