Crown targets olive oil market

Crown targets olive oil market as new research shows demand for the product is thriving worldwide.

As consumers on the continent are opting for olive oil more and more over alternative cooking oils, many brands have turned to packaging as a way of appealing to health-conscious individuals while differentiating their products from the competition.

Last month Crown specialty packaging Europe, a business unit of Crown Holdings, demonstrated its metal packaging solutions for olive oil brands at Expoliva 2013 in Jaén, Spain.

“In a competitive market such as olive oils, brands must stand out from their competition through stimulating and appealing packaging,” said Véronique Curulla, marketing manager, Crown specialty packaging Europe.

“Crown works closely with oil producers to design beautiful metal packages for their oils. These not only help shoppers to choose the oil, driving sales, but can even encourage consumers to leave the oil visible in their kitchens, boosting brand awareness and loyalty.”
