A brew to a kill?
The recent news of the merger between SABMiller and Anheuser-Busch InBev was some significant news for the industry. They reached approval after shareholders of both companies voted in favour of the deal. This now ensures AB InBev will brew a third of the world’s beer – a momentous consequence for the brewing industry. Our resident columnist ‘Can Man’ pens his thoughts on the deal in his usual typically robust manner.
To whet the appetite, here is a brief snippet:
“But are the various competitions ensuring that there is a fair playing field, or are the cards stacked in favour of the global players?”

Our October issue has just gone to press and you can look forward to Evert van de Weg exploring the latest developments within the aluminium bottle can sector, we find out about the Belarus can making industry, and I provide a review of the recent Aerosol Forum show in New York. It’s been a really varied month for me, as this issue proves. From writing about DRT’s 25th anniversary celebrations, to finding out about the canning process of marijuana, it’s certainly never a dull moment in the world of journalism.
Mark and I are putting the finishing touches to the media pack for 2017, and we can look forward to some exciting new features for next year., Some of the new areas we will be covering include including an Eastern European focus, our can making ‘Most Valuable Persons’ list in July/August, and with Metpack next year, our April issue will provide you with an essential guide to the show.
