Red Bull celebrates F1 win with champions can
The design of the Red Bull can has been changed for the first time ever in the UK in celebration of its Formula One team’s victory in this year’s World Championship.
Driver Sebastian Vettel took the driver’s title in November. He did so in the final race of the season, just a week after the team won the constructors championship. His teammate Mark Webber finished third in the final rankings.
Both drivers are featured on the Champions Edition cans, which are supplied by Rexam.
Red Bull said the new look cans would help retailers “capitalise on the success of the most exciting Formula 1 season ever seen.”
Gavin Lissimore, Red Bull strategy and planning manager, said: “This is a really exciting piece of activity for Red Bull and the sports and energy category as a whole.
“It’s the first time in the UK we’ve ever changed the can design and will bring with it a host of sales opportunities for retailers.
“We expect to add incremental value to the category whilst exciting consumers by building on the increased awareness and success of the F1 victory, across our fastest growing SKU.”
