Don’t forget the awards

This time of year is particularly exciting for us, with our annual Asia CanTech trade show, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand. The show promises to be a cracker, with our exhibition hall at full capacity with 77 exhibitors. With the event growing year on year, it shows what an excellent opportunity it is to conduct business within Southeast Asia.

Last year brought back fond memories of our 25th anniversary celebration, and we hope this year’s addition is just as successful.

Speaking of anniversaries, logistics company for the can making industry UTC Overseas is celebrating 30 years within can making this month. As long time supporters of the industry, and familiar faces to may, it’s a pleasure to congratulate Dean Temple and Martha Rojas on 30 years working within the can trade. In spirit of this, I visited UTC’s headquarters in New Jersey, US, recently, and you can read all about it in our October issue.

Elsewhere, we interview Thongchai Oranrigsupak, the newly elected president of the Thai metal packaging industry, there’s a round-up of ADF Forum and Evert van de Weg finds out the latest on Belvac, post Rosario acquisition. It’s an issue not to be missed.

Deadline is swiftly approach for our Asia CanTech Awards, taking place on 30 October 2018. Entry is free and can include all preferred categories. All entries should be sent to us by 19 October and should include a description and brief information about the can along with reasons why you think it is a winning entry.
