Calls for urgent ETS reform

In response to a vote in the European Parliament’s ENVI Committee on the ETS Market Stability Reserve, director-general of the European Aluminium Association Gerd Götz has issued a statement.

Anders Linde, the secretary general of Metal Packaging Europe, looks at the organisation’s work to get metal recognised as a permanent material by the European Parliament. EU recognise metals as ‘permanent material’

Permanent materials, including metals, have been recognised as a new resource category by the European Parliament. Industry body Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), which has worked hard to bring resource efficiency to the forefront of EU Policy, has welcomed the move.

MPE aims for zero metal waste to landfill
