‘Gag’ lemonade launched

A gag feature will be hidden in a series of cans developed in association with a Finnish TV show.

Rexam has worked with Finnish drinks firm Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas Oy to create a new can design for its Duudesons Jekkulimonadi known as gag lemonade.

The soft lemonade drink is named after the Dudesons who are best known for their TV and live stunt shows in Finland where they’re big stars.
Inside the 33cl cans is a secret ingredient the makers have promised will ‘surprise the consumer’.

However, the team behind it have been very tight lipped about what precisely the secret ingredient is saying consumers will have to try it for themselves.

Cans are currently produced in Rexam’s plant in Sweden, but production will now be transferred to Rexam’s new Finnish plant, opened in January this year.

Rami Aarikka, chief executive at Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas Oy, said, “We have worked with Rexam since 2001 and we have continued to work closely with the team to develop cans that enhance our products and ensure we can stand out from competitors.”

Christian Nilsson, sales manager for the nordic region at Rexam, added, “This drink is a great product and the ‘gag’ inside makes it unique for consumers. A combination of a unique design and first-class printing techniques gives a great impression and perfectly complements the nature of the Duudeson’s brand.”

Duudesons Jekkulimonadi is now available throughout Finland.
