Apeal president to speak at debate in Brussels

Apeal to host summit
Apeal’s Steel for Packaging Summit will take place in Kosice, Slovakia, on September 20th 2011. Apeal (the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging) and US Steel Europe will co-host Steel for Packaging, Green solutions for Central Europe at the US Steel Europe plant in Kosice.
Improved recycling rates in Europe
Apeal (the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging) has revealed that the recycling rate in Europe for steel food and beverage cans has risen again. Figures revealed at packaging show Interpack demonstrate how recycling rates of steel packaging for Europe in 2009 increased by two per cent to reach more than 72 per cent.

APEAL names new managing director
Philip Buisseret has been appointed managing director for the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (APEAL). Apeal is a federation of four multi-national producers of steel for packaging, ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel Packaging, Rasselstein-ThyssenKrupp and US Steel Kosiçe.
Frauman joins APEAL
Evelyne Frauman has been appointed quality and environment manager for the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (APEAL). APEAL is a federation of four multi-national producers of steel for packaging ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel Packaging, Rasselstein-ThyssenKrupp and US Steel Kosiçe.
