A forum for discussion
With preparations in full swing for our upcoming Asia CanTech show this October, we can now make another announcement regarding the show.
The only way is cans
During my time in the industry so far, the main critique from the hardy souls of the can making business has been the fact that we have been so slow to market ourselves compared to other packaging formats.
All’s fair in love and cans
The latest in the PPG/AkzoNobel saga this week has been particularly interesting, with the news that PPG has decided to withdraw its proposal and not pursue an offer. With a visible conflict between the company and its shareholders, it will be interesting to see how long AkzoNobel can see off careful admirers…
Fighting the real enemy
We’ve just returned from Chicago and the annual International Metal Decorator’s Association’s (IMDA) annual conference.
Keeping on board
Metpack was an excellent opportunity to meet some of our respected editorial advisory board members to exchange new ideas for the coming months ahead.
From the sublime to the ridiculous
I can imagine there are a few jaded individuals this week as it’s back to normality after a busy show schedule. For me at least, Metpack certainly lived up to expectations and it was a delight to see so many of you sampling our refreshments on our stand. Neil’s Morgan safely arrived back on home soil too!
It’s where it all happens
Wolfgang Niemsch, chairman of the Metpack committee, welcomed in the 2017 edition of the show with a positive message of prosperity within the metal packaging sector.
Safe travels
On the eve of Metpack, let me just wish you all a safe journey over to Germany. I do still have a few editorial appointments left, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss any new product offerings.
Judgement day
It’s now less than two weeks until Metpack, where I’ll be looking forward to visiting the show for the first time. It’s going to be a terrific opportunity to see new product innovations, catch-up with industry colleagues and continue my industry learning process.
Next level technology
This blog comes to you from Stuttgart, Germany, where I’ve been kindly hosted by the team at KBA-MetalPrint. It has been a busy couple of days where I have gained an exclusive insight into the company’s latest innovations that will be presented at this year’s Metpack.
Remembering Atit Bhatia
I’m afraid to be the bearer of more bad news, but it’s with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Hindustan Tin Works’ Atit Bhatia. He sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 35.
Looking after your T & Cs
It’s been a busy few days here at Bell Towers, as we put the finishing touches to our bumper 100 page April issue, which sees an eight page Metpack preview of new product innovations that will be seen at the show.
A global team
Neil and I have just returned from Dubai, where we were kindly hosted by Sharad Anand (pictured) and the team at Delta Food. You can read about our trip in the April issue, where we bring you an exclusive case study feature on the company and a wider look at the can making market in the region.
Steely resolve
Aside from the merger of Ball and Rexam last year, the most significant news story of the past 12 months has been the on-going saga with Tata Steel in the UK.
